Linksys set to launch another Wi-Fi VoIP phone

If you feel like getting your wireless on, Linksys has got another VoIP phone for you. Baby brother to the beefier EIP300, the WIP300 will link up to any Wi-Fi connection (802.11b/g) through SIP v2. It seems like it mates up perfectly with Vonage, but there is some speculation that it isn’t exactly Skype friendly.

All the standard security measures — 128-bit WEP, WPA and WPA2 — have been integrated into the WIP300. You’ll be able to access your POP3/SMTP email, as well as send and receive text messages via SMS. Other features include 16MB flash memory, a 1.8-inch color screen, and USB recharging. Some nifty audio enhancement features, like echo cancellation, have also been thrown in for good measure.

Don’t get too excited just yet, because the WIP300 is only available for pre-order right now. You won’t be able to rock one of these until February 16, and even when you do, you’ll have to drop 250 greenbacks to do it.
