Word is coming from a Partner briefing hosted by Microsoft that a new device is on the way. It will be a Lifestyle Ultra-Mobile PC and will do some neat tricks. Specific details are scarce, but attendees were given some criteria in which the new device will fit. It will be wearable, though there is no word of whether this means it can attach to a belt or if it will integrate in some other way. It will have an all day battery life with 12 hours of time. It will be always on and ready for instant use, connect through 3G and will be pen based and operate on a full Windows platform.
Perhaps the most exciting detail of the device is the price. It will retail for under $500, meaning it can be accessible and can become indispensable when you’re on the go, like a phone is now. The device, whatever it is, could be announced very soon.
