Electronic dictionaries aren’t very popular in North America, but they are huge in Asia. I wonder what that says about us? As electronic dictionaries go, though, the new iRiver D20 is a pretty slick unit. It translates and defines, but the fun doesn’t stop there.

The D20 has the features that you would imagine – an ebook reader and a comprehensive organizer to keep you in line. You can listen to your tunes as you look up words, too. The D20 supports MP3, WMA and OGG files. It has a line in and FM radio. You can even record off the radio if that makes you happy.

There is a massive 4.3 inch 480×272 color LCD. When not reading ebooks, you can use the screen to look at your pictures. Strangely, the D20 doesn’t support any video formats, so the pictures can’t move. It does have a nicely sized QWERTY keyboard which makes the unit easy to use.
