Today was a big day for Skype, Not only did they release beta version 2.0 of their popular VoIP application, but they also announced a new partnership with Logitech regarding co-promotion of their highly successful webcams.

The deal came around due to the new Skype video feature that is incorporated in the new beta. The video feature supports full-screen video calling between any of the contacts on ones list that also have a webcam. This goes along side the already strong features that Skype already had available in the client.

Skype and Logitech will now jointly market the new Skype video features, Logitech webcams and headsets worldwide, and will no doubt promote the fact that Logitech products are “Skype Certified” for use with video calling.

Skype is wholly owned by the eBay company, and although it has yet to happen, you can most likely look forward to the Skype voice, and now video features being incorporated into the eBay website and transactions.

Logitech webcams that have been certified by Skype include QuickCam Fusion, Orbit, Pro 5000, Pro 4000, Communicate STX, Chat, Zoom, and for Notebooks Pro. Logitech headsets that have been certified by Skype include the Logitech USB Premium Headset 350, the Logitech USB Headset 250, the Logitech Premium Stereo Headset, and the Logitech Internet Chat Headset.
