Opera Software, who boldly and modestly calls themselves the world leader in Web browser technology, released the latest version of the Opera browser for Symbian Series 60 (S60). It’s called Opera 8.5, it’s fast and it brings a wide range of features Opera users expect. It has a password manager so that you don’t have to log-in to websites on every visit. It also features the zoom-on-page feature, which will be handy for mobile phones because it allows you to zoom in or out to view images or text.
S60 will also feature Opera’s unique Small-Screen Rendering technology, this dynamically reformats web pages for your phone.
“Our predicted shift in browsing habits is finally coming true. More and more people are accessing the Internet from other devices, including mobile phones, rather than just their computers,” says Jon S. von Tetzchner, CEO, Opera Software. “Web browsing has become a major selling point for new handsets, and with the latest release of Opera 8.5 for S60 we are continuing our legacy of innovation and re-affirming our position as the leading browser vendor across platforms and devices.”
Opera has been on Nokia and other S60-equipped handsets since 2003. Opera 8.5 for S60 is now available for download.
