Sony Ericsson W550 Walkman Phone with 1.3 Megapixel Camera

Another addition to the Sony Ericsson Walkman phone family was unveiled today, the W550. While stereo music and 256MB of internal memory are the main features on the phone, it also adds a 1.3 megapixel camera, full Internet browsing capabilities, 2D games and Music/Video DJ software.

Loading music to your handset is through Disc2Phone PC software, it allows you to store between 60 to 120 MP3 or AAC music tracks (depending on compression). Music playback can go on for about 30 hours on a single charge, obviously changing if using the phone to make calls.

The 1.3 MegaPixel camera captures stills and video-clips and adds a 4x digital zoom lens for close-ups. Images are stored or shared using MMS or Bluetooth, or backup to a PC via USB cable.

Two versions of the Sony Ericsson W550 will be released in Q4 of this year, the W550i; a tri-band GPRS 900/1800/1900MHz version for European, African, Middle East, Asia Pacific and Hong Kong markets and the W550c version for mainland China.
