Back in January Motorola announced their first Evolution Data Only (EvDO) handset with some pretty sweet features. Well today Verizon announced that they will be the first to carry the handset, the Motorola E815. Looks to me like a spiffy looking mid-range phone with a built in camera, Bluetooth, and support for Video on Demand thanks to EV-DO.
This is the latest addition to the V CAST lineup. V CAST wireless broadband multimedia service gives customers access to download 3D games and music videos, view concert performances from favorite artists and short programs and videos designed specifically for mobile phones.
The E815 has a 1.3 megapixel camera with 4x zoom, video recorder, auto timer, adjustable resolution, day and night lighting modes. It has a built in 40 megabytes of memory with a TransFlash slot for an additional 128MB of storage. The phone also features an MP3 player with a 64 polyphonic sound engine and stereo headset support. BREW 2.1.3 support for applications and games is included.
As for the physical features, the E815 is a clamshell designed phone with an external antenna. On the outside of the phone is a 4K color 1.3-inch 96×96 pixel display with an internal 262K color 2.2-inch 176×220 pixel display.
The Motorola E815 is available now for a price of $149.99 without a plan or $99 after signing up for a 2-year service plan.
