Broadcasting live programs on mobile phones is a new phenomenon which takes mobile interactivity to new heights. Go TV plans to broadcast Live 8, one of the largest and most important music event of this decade. Live 8 aims to raise awareness on the poverty in African nations and raises funds for them from across the globe.
Live 8 will be telecast by GoTV from London, Philadelphia, Paris, Rome, Berlin, Johannesburg, Tokyo and Toronto and will include the concert, live interviews with artists, and news as it happens. Unfortunately, this service is only available to mobile phone users in the US to Go TV subscribers through their alternate music channel called ALTitude.
“By providing continuous Live 8 coverage to mobile users in the United States, GoTV will allow people everywhere to experience this landmark concert series.” said Rick Friedman, vice president, news and production, GoTV Networks.
So when does Live 8 starts? The concert starts off on the 2nd July afternoon. Here’s hoping that the coverage is done successfully and with the minimum number of glitches. A number of things can go wrong due to technical hitches, coincidentally the GoTV website is currently down.
