Orange adds SPV M1000 Windows Mobile Handheld to lineup

The SPV M1000 is based on the same reference design as the XDA II, with the Windows Mobile 2003 for Pocket PC platform.

This handheld is targeted to business users rather then consumers, mainly because of it’s ability for use with an overhead projector. The M1000 supports Microsoft Pocket Word, Pocket Excel and Adobe Acrobat files.

With a standard QVGA (240 x 320) 16-bit transflective display, the device remains at a comfortable 190g weight and 130 x 70 x 18 mm. Orange rates the M1000 at 3.5 hours talktime, and 6.5 days of standby, or 12 hours of PDA mode.

The extensive features include Bluetooth, IR, Tri-Band (900/1800/1900 MHz) GSM / GPRS connection with full voice, SMS, MMS, e-mail, instant messaging, and internet access. It also has an integrated VGA digital camera suitable for picture and video messaging.

All this is powered by a 400MHz Intel X-Scale processor with 128MB RAM, and a 1200 mAh replaceable battery.

The Orange SPV M1000 is available immediately.
