Tellas has selected Ericsson to supply and deploy a fixed wireless access network and core network. Tellas is the newest operator in Greece, a joint venture between the Greek PPC DEI and Italian operator WIND.
In addition to supplying the equipment, Ericsson delivers a full set of professional services to Tellas. Such services include total project management and systems integration for the complete Tellas network, which comprises of equipment from other vendors as well. Tellas has also assigned to Ericsson the network operation and maintenance for the first six months.
Tellas launched their commercial services February 3, 2003, and the initial phase of the project has already been concluded successfully. Tellas will offer broadband Internet access and services to businesses and consumers in major Greek cities.
