Small Displacement Four-Bangers Coming out of General Motors |

 Those gas prices are getting awfully scary. They're getting so high that many families have to skip their annual vacations in order to make up for the lost funds. Another way you can save some cash is to get a smaller car with a smaller engine. Europeans have adhered to this philosophy for years.
General Motors is now preparing to take the European approach to North American engines, because it is working on the Family Zero range of four-cylinder engines. The displacement will range from 1.0 to 1.4 liters, which is a good size smaller than the current 2.0L+ engines out there. The engines will be assembled in Flint, Michigan.
Exact plans have not been released, per se, but reports are saying that GM will have a car that fits beneath the Cobalt and it will get a 1.4L turbocharged engine. This small car will reportedly do 40 miles on the gallon.
