Solid State Drive Upgrade for MacBook Pro is $500 Cheaper |

 When Apple first announced the MacBook Air, I thought that the $1800 price point was within the reasonable range, but the $1300 premium that you would have to pay for the solid state drive upgrade was pretty outlandish. It took a little while, but Cupertino is finally providing a little bit of relief to your ever-shrinking wallet.
Last month, it would have cost you $3,100 to buy a MacBook Air with a 64GB Solid State Drive. Starting this month, you can save $500 on that super thin notebook, forking over a mere $2,600 instead. That still doesn't make it a remarkably cheap notebook, but you do have to realize that you are paying a premium for the super thin form factor and the 1.8-inch solid state drive.
According to AppleInsider, the $500 price cut can be broken down into two components. They saved $100 on the Intel Core 2 Duo processor and $400 on the solid state drive. SSDs are getting cheaper and this can only be a good thing for consumers. And our wallets.
