Smart Mobility from HTC to Include Mobile Internet Device |

 With all the hullabaloo surrounding subnotebooks these days, the smaller form factor of a Mobile Internet Device (MID) is getting a little neglected. Not by HTC, however, because the Taiwanese company is reportedly working on a MID that will be powered by Intel's Atom and Qualcomm's Snapdragon chipset platforms.
Atom seems to be the name of the game when it comes to the Asus Eee PC and similar netbooks, but we also know that Atom is also well suited for other form factors as well. According to Peter Chou, HTC President and CEO, the new line of Mobile Internet Devices will be revealed to the world some time in the second half of this year. HTC may be shifting its attention slightly away from UMPCs (like the HTC Shift) and toward the MID market.
Is the upcoming HTC MID meant to be a competitor against the little laptops of the world? Or is it meant to be a supplement to the supplementary devices? Maybe it can be both.
